a little bit about me

For over a decade, I’ve been immersed in telling the stories of others—but when I reflect on how I got here, I can’t ignore my own odd and complicated journey. I grew up as a "Plig" kid (the child of a fundamentalist Mormon sect) where I learned early on about belonging and, more often, not belonging in the outside world. At the same time I learned about selfless service from my mom who, among so many other things, worked with Doctors Without Boarders helping those in need. These are just two chapters of my life story, but their influence was significant and lasting.

Stepping outside this community, I carried with me the perspective it gave me, one that made me deeply curious about the world and those who are different from myself. I've always known that each person is both unique and valuable, and that belief has fueled my lifelong career in storytelling.

Whether I’m capturing the journey of someone who’s changed our world, documenting an overlooked community, or shaping a brand’s identity, I find purpose in giving stories the voice they deserve. From rural Utah to Zambia, my work has taken me to places I never imagined, but at its core, it’s always been about people—their struggles, their triumphs, and their impact.

When I'm not producing video work, I love designing and building thoughtful solutions to everyday problems. (Check out the industrial design tab for some of my creations!)
